A Step Forward

Yesterday I walked over a mile, spent some time at the mall, held a guinea pig for the first time, and had a lovely lunch with Kazzy and the kiddo. This past week and a half has bee rather stressful considering my non-stop TIAs and pain, but as of Monday, it’s been 4 days without a TIA and the past 2 days I have been in a lot less pain.
This is not to say I am better in any way, just able to function more than I have been recently. I am still suffering from something life threatening and still don’t know how much longer I have. What matters is that the rest of what life I have left is not filled with constant pain and suffering nor is it spent 90% in bed. Yesterday was a good step in that direction.
I still can’t leave on my own for fear that I may have a TIA while far from home, but we’re definitely keeping an eye on me and keeping our fingers crossed that I will still be able to make it down to LA at the end of this month.
I’m hoping to see a lot more days like yesterday. I had fun and actually got my mind off how sick I really am. Though I’m realizing the permanent effects are getting a lot more frustrating to cope with while not at home.

I finally felt well enough to take a new one.

I will be creating a fundraiser soon to help cover the cost of medical bills, medicine, etc. that we are unable to afford. Any help during this hard time would be amazing. I will also be updating my wishlist more frequently if anyone is interested in making my current situation a little more enjoyable.

I will definitely make sure to update as soon as I have the fundraiser together.

I thank everyone for their love and support. It means more to me than I can even begin to describe!

Today Was The First…

Today was the first day that I’ve been out during daylight hours in a couple weeks. I went with Kazzy to Target to go grocery shopping and actually really enjoyed my time out, though my vision loss made it difficult not to bump into people in the more narrow aisles. I am in less pain today, though I have been experiencing spasms in my right eye, some of which are painful.
Today has made me feel more like a human than I’ve been feeling recently, though I still have a hard time when people give me weird looks due to my having to wear an eye patch.
I’m hoping to be well enough to get out again this week, maybe to make a trip to the bay and enjoy some time by the water. My need for time by water is making me feel like a certain someone who lost his life a couple years back. I look at this situation I’m in and think about him a lot actually. It makes me wish I had been there more during the last couple months of his life.
Before I go on a rant, I’ll end this. Just figured today’s experience was worth sharing.

Major Important Update Regarding My Health

So the past couple months I’ve been posting nothing but DJ set lists. At first this was because I was super busy. Then the blog got taken offline for about 2 weeks. Now I’m not posting simply because I’m sick.
Not just any kind of sick, but very sick. I’ll go into detail in just a bit…
The point I’m making, is that I haven’t been updating this blog, and I feel like now is a good time to start. Not to fill it with reviews, interviews, etc (though those will still be posted from time to time) but to keep everyone updated on my current situation, including, but not limited to:
Health and doctor updates, day to day living with my current condition, thoughts and reflections on life, photos, and fundraiser & wishlist information. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, this is what’s going on:
It’s been a little over a month now since I lost my sight. Not in both eyes obviously, but in my right one. What I thought at first was my exploding head syndrome acting up turned out to be a TIA or mini-stroke caused by a blockage in my eye. This past month has been filled with many ups and downs since finding out my vision loss is permanent. But the story continues. I have a blockage in my eye which caused the initial TIA and the ones that have followed since. This blockage is life threatening and I’m having a lot of troubles covering medical costs and whatnot that my insurance won’t cover. Because of my current state, I am unable to work and have to begin applying for SSI, and Kazzy is unable to work as he has now become my caretaker. Life right now is hard, and there are so many things I want to say but feel no need to be posting all over Twitter or Facebook. This is the only outlet I have, and probably the best way to reach out and ask for assistance. We (Kazzy and myself) will be starting a fundraiser in order to get money together for medical costs to make sure I can stay around as ling as possible. I may never get my right eye back, but at least I can have a chance at a longer life.
That’s basically what’s been going on. I’ll go into more detail at another time, but I did want everyone to know what’s going on and what to expect from this blog for the time being.
